Often, we hear these concerns from people considering whether to volunteer as a Boat Captain. Boats do get dirty, just like the volunteers do. To protect the boats, Riversweep provides large, heavy plastic tarps to cover the surfaces where debris is placed. In prior years, Boat Captains have found that these tarps have been more than adequate to protect from scratches, dings and most of the sand and mud.
Other tips: Wrap your seats in garbage bags. Remove carpeting, if possible, or tape an additional tarp to cover carpeting.
